Physical description: Ezra is a young, teenaged human male. Being sixteen years old, he's small for his age and appears closer to fourteen in height, with a slim build and a mop of dark blue-black hair that is always untidy. He's short for his age, thanks to poor nutrition in the latter half of his childhood and early adolescence due to being on the street. He has a dark olive-toned complexion and wide blue eyes, with heavy eyebrows and a square jawline that's just starting to come in solidly. He's very nimble and light on his feet, and very good at fitting himself into tight spaces that seem like his body wouldn't fit in.
History:
Ezra is a young force user being trained in the way of the light side by his Jedi Master Kanan Jarrus. As a child, Ezra was born on the planet Lothal 19 years before the Battle of Yavin, or in Lothal's year 3258. A small peaceful planet, mostly characterized by farms and small cities. As a child, the Empire came to Lothal, spreading it's terror and forcing civilians under it's close of suspicions. Ezra's parents pushed against the Empire's regime, giving small secret radio broadcasts in the hidden basement of their family home.
At 7 years of age, life for Ezra changed dramatically. The Empire stormed his home, arresting his parents and removing them from Lothal. Ezra was the only one to escape without being arrested and started the next phase of his life living on the streets. To survive he found and resold old tech on the black market, acted often as a con-man and lived in an old broken down comm-tower on the edge of his home city. Unknowingly many of his talents to keep himself out of trouble were based on his unknown force abilities, which were only discovered later after the arrival of the Ghost crew.
Ezra's life changed again when the Ghost crew, a crew of Rebels, were on Lothal planning a Heist to steal a bunch of the Empire's supply crates. Seeing the opportunity to get a few credits for himself in, Ezra jumps in and steals one of the crates for himself. The Rebels don't take kindly to this, tracking Ezra down, and much to their detriment, having them Empire follow them, Ezra's only chance to escape the Empire is to go with the Ghost crew. Effectively now captive, he takes the chance to snoop around the ship, coming across Kanan's lightsaber and holocron. Leaving the lightsaber he pockets the holocron, thinking Kanan won't notice.
It's not until He's taken prisoner by the Empire, thanks to being abandoned by one of Ghost's crew, that Ezra learns something about Kanan, through seeing the coded message Obi-Wan Kenobi leaves in the holocron. After escaping the Empire, and finding his way to the ghost crew, he helps them save a band of wookies from slavery and in return the Rebels give him a lift home. Ezra quietly returns Kanan's Holocron where he found it but swiped Kanan's lightsaber, however before he gets a chance Kanan gives him a choice. To go back to living alone on Lothal, or to join him and become his padawan.
Ezra takes the latter choice, moving onto the Ghost and joining the rebel group. However it's not without peril, with two jedi around, news spreads fast, especially through Imperial channels. Despite helping the rebellion and avoiding the Impreial fleet, a new issue arises in the form of the Grand Inquisitor. He is a Sith who wants nothing more than to stop the Jedi in their tracks and does everything in his power to either convert Ezra to the dark side or to kill him. On more than one occasion does Ezra give in and use the dark side, much to Kanan's dismay, before he really understands how to use the force.
Ezra grows under Hera and Kanan's guidance as both a force user and as a rebel fighting the Empire. It takes him down many paths including building his own lightsaber, going undercover as an imperial cadet, being betrayed by people the Ghost's crew considered friends, and the kidnapping of Kanan. During this, Ezra realizes the importance of having the people fight the empire as much as the rebels and broadcasts a message across Lothal telling it's citizens to rise up against the tyranny and to listen to who they are and to never forget it.
It's Ezra who pushes the crew to rescue Kanan, disobeying Hera, and enlisting the rest of the crew's help. It isn't his smartest decision and enlisting the help of a crime lord, Visago, He finds a way to rescue Kanan and return him safely to the Ghost, but not without a cost. During their escape a final duel with the Grand Inquisitor takes place, where Ezra is quickly overwhelmed by the dark side and thrown from the catwalk onto a lower railing. A message from hera has him coming to and returning to assist Kanan (who thought Ezra had died in the fall) defeat the Grand Inquisitor. However, they didn't know there was much worst yet to come.
With Kanan's rescue, they learn that the Ghost is only one small cell of the larger Rebel fleet. Headed by Ahsoka Tano, the Ghost is given new orders to retrieve supplies from Lothal and Rescue one of the imperial agents there Minister Tua. It's a set up, which leaves Ezra and Kanan their very first glimpse of what is to come in the appearance of Darth Vader.
After their escape, Ezra learns that there's a lot more to defeating a Sith Lord than anyone is comfortable talking about which has the Rebel fleet turning to new avenues: A place to hide. Which has Ahsoka asking the Ghost crew to find three men she's been looking for for a long time. Clones, primarily Captain Rex, which they recruit to the rebellion to help find a new place for the Rebellion to call home.
During their search there is no shortage of adventures for Ezra and the crew. Including meeting more Inquisitors, that Zeb's people had not become extinct after the Empire razed their planet to the ground, working as a pirate, meeting a princess, disrupting some mandalorians, and learning of the unfortunate death of his parents. His parents death is a turning point that has Ezra realizing that the Empire must be stopped at all costs. Because of his Speech, broadcast, his parents helping an a breakout of Lothal's imperial prison and were killed in the melee. Part of Ezra feels that it's his fault they were gone entirely from him now, even though they made their own choice based upon their son's dedicated and heartfelt words against the Empire.
Ezra dedicates himself from there in being both a rebel and a jedi. He learns from both Ahsoka and Kanan, despite some of the hardships that befall them. He also learns that much of the galaxy is full of extremes such as his meeting of Cham Syndulla, but that with every turn that the Empire is hot on their heels, and with that, Vader. Turning to Ahsoka, Kanan, and Ezra end up travelling with her to the Lothal temple to ask for guidance, while there they're nearly killed once again by inquisitors, but leave with an answer, they need to travel to Mustafar to get anywhere close to a solution to the Sith.
In the week after this news, the Rebels finally find a place to call home, for the time being. However it's overshadowed by the apprehension that the Force Users feel in their departure for Mustafar. Ezra's unsure but willful that something good will come of their mission, even if it might be the last thing he does.
Personality:
Ezra is best described as friendly, witty, and dedicated. He's a hardworking young man, who knows the darker sides of reality too closely for comfort. At times he can be an absolute pessimist, leaning back on his days of living hand-to-mouth on the street to make judgement calls on situations. He's bright kid for his age and picks up on adult concepts much more quickly than most his age.
Having spent most of his life simply surviving as a con-man and pickpocket, he's become very good at playing the showman and portraying a front of confidence. He's quick to laugh, and always ready with a sharp comeback no matter the situation, even if it's dire. Overall Ezra's the kind of guy that's always a positive influence to have around, but he's not without his pride and his confidence. What he does know, he knows well and isn't ashamed to hide, almost to the point of overlooking common sense to prove something. Often times his pride can get him in trouble, thinking he has a better plan that is much better than regrouping or listening to those around him that might have more experience. He's much more approving of action to inaction, wanting to jump headfirst into problems most times instead of debating them and seeking second opinions.
Ezra isn't without his own fair share of pains and fears. Despite hiding them well, his anxiety around abandonment can sometimes be too gripping, especially after the death of his parents. Most of all, Ezra fears failure and not being able to help his friends or the people that he trusts the most. He's a caring soul who wants to help, but in many cases he simply doesn't know how his good intentions blind him to the reality or people's actions. He's naieve in some aspects of how people interact with others when they want something, especially information, after they've spent some time gaining his trust.
Ezra doesn't trust many, but those he does, the loyalty runs deep. It's hard to get Ezra to connect with people if he doesn't want to, but if he has picked someone and has formed a bond with them, he will do everything in his power to help that person. He is also brave to the point of being foolish at times, misjudging bravery for being hot headed and charging into situations instead of thinking them through. His bravery is the quiet kind, standing up against fear itself, most often his own fears which unfortunately he has a great many of them that the Sith prey on very easily.
He loves his friends more than anything else in the galaxy, and it shows in the lengths he'll go for them. Saving Kanan from absolute peril, or even going out of his way to make the droid, Chopper, less grumpy about an incident. Both are part of who he is; just trying to make sure everyone he loves is looked after in their own way by him.
Strengths Ezra is dedicated, smart, and with his growing knowledge of the force and training he's becoming a formidable force user. Always willing to learn, he goes out of his way to experience new things and strives to learn from his mistakes. He's starting to learn diplomacy and how to talk his way out of situations instead of fighting.
Weaknesses He lets his fear get the best of him at times and acts impulsively at times. He's cocky and sure of himself to the point of being brash at times, and often likes to tease people. He lets his temper get the better of him at times and can make very cutting remarks, shooting off his mouth before he thinks. He leap and acts before thinking and is too impulsive for his own good at times. He still doesn't know what to move away from a problem if there's no solution that can be found.

[It's been a long time in the making, and Ezra has obviously been thinking very hard on his decision and on what the outcome of his address to everyone will be. It might be good, or it might incite a few glares and maybe him once again get him a reprimand. But he doesn't care now, he's going to do this.]
So I've been thinking, and in the long run, as great as the force is, sometimes it's limited. Especially if you have something happen where you end up missing a limb or two.
[He really hopes that this isn't going to bite him since he knows it's not really the Jedi way to even consider a blaster as a weapon.]
I think that Force user should train with blaster, and hear me out, just even understand how they work or what it's like to use one. I'm not saying that we should become expert marksmen, but we have the resource, so why don't we use it and learn something new?
[Maybe it's a bad idea, or maybe it's a good one, but either way, he's determined that he will learn a few things, and the others could stand to learn a new trick or two.]
